Towards greater diversity in cultural leadership
Taktskifte was launched in 2021 and aims to prepare culturally engaged youth with minority backgrounds into boards and councils within the cultural sector. The project consists of two different part – a leadership development course for young people aged 16–26 with minority backgrounds and an interest in culture, and a crash course in norm creativity for organizations and companies that want to become more diverse.
In the leadership development course, we work with topics such as identity and representation, diversity in cultural life, organizational and board work, as well as CV writing, application writing, and interview preparation. The course facilitators are skilled communicators with minority backgrounds who are very familiar with the subject matter. Through the program, participants build the competence, confidence, and network needed to take the step into positions of trust and boardrooms in the youth cultural sector. The course is free for all participants.
Participants receive, among other things:
Meet other young people interested in culture
Be inspired by workshop leaders and speakers from the cultural sector and within leadership development
Practice using your voice and taking space
Expand your network
Gain valuable skills to take on roles and become an active driver in the cultural sector
The crash course in norm creativity for organizations was developed on commission from the Year of Volunteering 2022. In the course, organizations are given the tools they need to identify and reflect on which norms create inclusion and exclusion within their own organization. Across roles and organizational forms, we explore how to make room for greater diversity in all parts of the organization.
